ANP Defines Blocks for Upcoming Permanent Offer Auctions in December

Aug. 7 (PN) The Special Bidding Commission (CEL) of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) announced the sectors and blocks that will be part of the 6th Permanent Offer Concession Cycle (OPC6) and the 4th Permanent Offer Production Sharing Cycle (OPP4), with public sessions scheduled for October 7, 2026

In the auction under the concession regime, 22 sectors of exploratory blocks and two sectors of areas with marginal accumulations will be offered across the Campos, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Parnaíba, Potiguar, Recôncavo, Santos, Tacutu, and Tucano basins. The production-sharing auction will feature 13 blocks: Azurita, Hematita, Larimar, Magnetita, and Turmalina in the Campos Basin; and Aragonita, Cerussita, Cruzeiro do Sul, Granada, Jade, Opala, Rodocrossita, and Rubi in the Santos Basin.

According to the ANP, the areas included in the auctions received declarations of interest accompanied by the respective bid bonds. For OPC6, 12 companies with active registration expressed interest in the sectors up for bid, while for OPP4, six companies submitted declarations for the blocks on offer. The ANP noted, however, that these companies do not necessarily represent the total number of participants in the public sessions.

Qualified companies may still submit new declarations of interest until August 31, expanding their participation to other sectors or blocks. Furthermore, companies that do not submit declarations within the deadline may still bid on the areas through consortia with companies that have expressed interest, provided they comply with the rules set out in the bidding documents.
