Ibama Grants Installation Licenses for P-80 and P-82 Platforms at Buzios Field

The Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) issued installation licenses for the P-80 and P-82 platforms, which are destined for the Búzios field in the Santos Basin pre-salt area.

The P-80 and P-82 will rank among Brazil’s largest platforms. Each will have the capacity to produce up to 225,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), process up to 12 million cubic meters of gas per day, and store over 1.6 million barrels. Both units are currently under construction in Singapore.

The P-80 will be connected to 14 wells—seven oil producers and seven injectors—with operations expected to begin in 2026. The P-82 project involves connecting 16 wells: nine producers and seven injectors.
