BW Energy provides offshore Namibia, Brazil development updates

(OM) BW Energy says a 3D seismic survey has finished over its license offshore Namibia, with gravity and magnetic datasets also acquired.

It plans to use the results to refine its depositional model, de-risk additional upside targets, and provide improved data to support FEED programs for the Kudu gas field development 130 km offshore southwest Namibia, and potential farm-in discussions.

Offshore Brazil, the company is still working to complete acquisition of a 100% operated interest in the Golfinho and Camarupim clusters and 65% working interest in the BM-ES-23 Block from Petrobras as well as taking over the FPSO Cidade de Vitoria from Saipem.

The process includes progressing relevant approvals from the Brazilian authorities, operational preparedness, field development planning and building a local organization.

Closing the transaction and FPSO takeover remains subject to conditions that include a restart post-upgrades required by the ANP.

Work also continues on optimizing the offshore Maromba field development plan. BW Energy and BW Offshore have agreed to defer payments for the FPSO Polvo.
