Allseas vessels to lay Southeast Gateway gas pipeline offshore Mexico

(OM) TC Energy has contracted Allseas to install a 36-inch offshore pipeline delivering gas to southeast Mexico.

The Southeast Gateway line will run about 700 km south along the coast from Tuxpan connecting the ports of Coatzacoalcos and Dos Bocas.

This is also the first major natural gas infrastructure project commissioned by the alliance between TC Energy and Mexican state utility CFE.

Laying should start at the end of 2023, with the pipeline set to enter service by mid-2025.

It will be Allseas’ second pipelay job offshore Mexico following the installation in 2017 of the 685-km-long Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline, which transports gas from basins in Texas to southern Mexico.
