(PetroleoHoje) Petrobras found evidence of gas in the Três Marias block, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin. The discovery, carried out on the 10th, was made in a water depth of 2,223 mts. The wildcat well was drilled in October by Diamond’s Ocean Courage rig.
The Três Marias area was acquired in the 4th ANP Sharing Round, held in 2018, by the consortium formed by Petrobras (30%), Chevron (30%) and Shell (40%). The block is in its first exploratory period, which expires in December 2025.
Petrobras plans to install an FPSO in Três Marias, with operations starting in November 2028. The FPSO designed for the area will have a plant capable of producing 150,000 bpd, with 16 wells, eight producers and eight injectors ( WAG type).
