TotalEnergies EP Brasil changes general director

TotalEnergies EP Brasil will have a new General Director as of December. The Brazilian subsidiary will be headed by Charles Fernandes, who occupied the same position in the Netherlands. Philippe Blanchard, General Director in Brazil since 2018, will assume the direction of TotalEnergies Suriname.

Charles is Brazilian and started his career at the French company in 2004. Over the more than 17 years of his career at TotalEnergies, the executive has held management positions in Brazil, Angola, Paris and, recently, he was the General Director responsible for the areas of exploration and production of natural gas of the Dutch subsidiary.

Philippe Blanchard will occupy the position of General Director in Suriname. Over more than 3 years of experience in Brazil, Philippe has led important transformations and projects. During his tenure, the company and its partners announced new investments for Campo de Mero and the start of operation of the FPSO P-70 in the Iara cluster. Another highlight under Blanchard’s management was the completion of the first drilling campaign in Lapa, the first production asset operated by a foreign company in the pre-salt field; and the acquisition of a 40% stake in Block C-M-541, expanding TotalEnergies’ presence in the Brazilian pre-salt.

Charles Fernandes will face important milestones, such as the start of the exploration campaign for block CM-541, the development of the southwest area of ​​the Lapa field and will contribute, together with the operator and partners, to the entry into operation of the four Mero platforms, planned for until 2025.
