Nov 29, 2019

DOF Subsea reported Thursday that it has begun operations of the Skandi Commander, Skandi Chieftain and Skandi Olympia support vessels for Petrobras in the third quarter of this year. The duration of the contracts is three years, with the option of extension for two more.

The vessels are RSVs, equipped with two ROVs each. The contracts, totaling US $ 15 million, were closed at the beginning of the year.

Mobilization of PLSV Skandi Niterói, contracted by TechnipFMC in May, for the submarine interconnection of the second phase of development of the Peregrino field, operated by Equinor in the Campos Basin, was also started.

The Norwegian oil company said it has provided pipelay services to PLSV Skandi Olinda of the Dofcon consortium (TechnipFMC / DOF), chartered by Petrobras in February this year. TechnipFMC is responsible for pipelay, while DOF is responsible for maritime operations.

DOF currently has 24 vessels and 74 ROVs in operation. In Brazil, the DOF / Norksan consortium has 23 vessels in the country, 18 of which are Brazilian flag: ten AHTSs, six PLSVs, three RSVs, three MPSVs, and one DSV, according to the October data from the Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies (Abeam).
