To drive the Digital Transformation program, Ocyan has signed a deal with Intelie, a Brazilian subsidiary of the US group RigNet, to acquire the Intelie Live platform. It will be used at the Decision Support Center (CSD), an intelligence and operations space of the company’s Drilling Unit (UN-P), at Macaé Base (RJ). The company will use Intelie Live, an artificial intelligence-based system, for integrated monitoring of the company’s entire drilling rig fleet.
“This integrated monitoring system combines efficient big data analysis, matching learning and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Together they will enable the Condition Based Maintenance implementation to extend the critical equipment lifecycle and develop a real-time Bow Tie, risk assessment and management methodology to monitor the conditions of mitigation barriers to prevent major accidents. These are just some of the solutions that will come from the new data evaluation system, ”explains Rodrigo Chamusca, responsible for CSD and Digital Transformation at the Ocyan Drilling Business Unit.
By implementing the solution, CSD will be able to monitor various Ocyan systems, including Maintenance, Safety, Drilling, Well and Integrity Control, BOP, Power Management System (PMS) and Dynamic Positioning (DP). The program demonstrates the company’s pioneering spirit in technological and innovative solutions in the oil and gas sector. “The Intelie Live platform has helped us gain access to all available data in a fully integrated way. We will respond quickly and have ready solutions for everyday challenges. Innovations in artificial intelligence will benefit all our customers in the oil and gas industry, ”explained Rodrigo.
For RigNet executive Lelio Souza, the partnership will allow expansion of new clients in this sector. “We are excited to expand our presence in offshore drilling through this partnership with Ocyan and using Intelie Live. We are sure this synergy will be a success, ”said Intelie director and co-founder and vice president of RigNet.
In addition to CSD, the company launched CompRiser, a solution for ultra-deepwater fields, especially Brazil’s pre-salt, which studies began in 2016. CompRiser was first introduced to the market at the 2018 OTC Houston and is in international certification process by DNV GL. The product is a partnership with Magma Global and BrasFels Shipyard.
Another important step was the creation of the open innovation platform Ocyan Waves, whose first program is the Ocyan Waves Challenge, aimed at startups seeking to develop solutions for the company’s operational and support challenges. In the Offshore Maintenance and Services (MSO) area, the company has started a series of partnerships with foreign companies to bring new technological solutions to Brazil. Among them is the agreement with Tube-Mac, a Canadian company that specializes in the installation and assembly of pipes using cold and solderless connections.
