Petrobras began licensing a proprietary campaign for 3D data acquisition, with nodes, in the Golfinho field, in the Espírito Santo Basin. The seismic campaign, planned by the company to begin in February 2021, should take 150 days.
The Golfinho field was one of the first to be put for sale by Petrobras when it started its divestment. It was negotiated in a joint package with the fields of Baúna and Tartaruga Verde, a bid that Karoon won but did not go forward because of the determination of the Court of Auditors of the changes in the company’s sales strategy.
After establishing a new system for the sale of Petrobras assets, the Golfinho field was not offered again by the state. The area is 100% owned by Petrobras and produces from the FPSO Cidade de Vitória, chartered by the company with Saipem.
The maximum operational capacity installed in the FPSO Cidade de Vitória is 100 thousand bpd and 3.5 million m3 gas. Its production occurs at a water depth of 1386 meters and began in 2007. In addition to the Golfinho field, the FPSO Cidade de Vitória also produces oil and gas at the Canapu field, located 70 kilometers away and started production in the year 2010.
The Golfinho field is a light oil reserve, ranging from 28º to 40º API and was discovered in July 2003, through well 1-ESS-123.
