PGS plans to start two seismic campaigns in Brazil later this year, company country director, Stephane Dezaunay told BE Petróleo. The works should be carried out in the Campos / Santos and Sergipe-Alagoas basins.
“We have a lot of licenses in those regions, so that’s the area of the campaigns. For 2020 and 2021, the expectation is that the acquisitions continue in Campos and Santos and the equatorial margin, always following the auction calendar, “added the executive.
The company’s latest acquisition of data in the country was made in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, in an area of 8,500 km² (Pirambu Project).
On May 23rd, PGS received authorization from the ANP to carry out activities of acquisition, processing and preparation of seismic and non-seismic data studies under 2D, 3D, 4D, Ocean Bottom Cable (OBN) technologies, Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN), Gravimetry, Magnetometry, Electromagnetic, Sea-Seep, Sea Bottom Coring and Seismic High Resolution.
