Acquisition area covers blocks of the 15th round and 17th round, scheduled for 2020
Spectrum is initiating a 3D seismic survey in the Potiguar Basin. The survey covers about 10,700 square kilometers, in areas with blocks that were recently offered in the 15th round and blocks to be offered in the 17th round, scheduled for 2020. Spectrum is the only operator of the project and the first products will be available in the third quarter of 2019.
The acquisition is broadband, with mapping of prospects and drilling targets. Data is being acquired by twelve long-distance cables in continuous recording mode. According to the company’s CEO, Rune Eng, the goal is to provide data before the planned rounds.
Seven blocks were acquired in the Potiguar Basin in the 15th round, in March this year. Petrobras, Wintershall and Shell are the operators of these areas. For the 17th, it is planned to offer one sector (SPOT-AP2) in the Potiguar Basin.
