Petrobras plans bidding in 2019 for two platforms in the Mero area

Petrobras plans to open bidding for the Mero 3 and Mero 4 platforms in mid-2019, the area’s chief executive Fernando Borges told reporters on Thursday.

The Mero field is located on the Libra block, in the Santos Basin pre-salt, first to be tendered under a production sharing regime in Brazil in 2013.

Platforms 3 and 4 are scheduled to begin operating within  the company’s current 2018-2022 business plan.

Borges reiterated that the first definitive platform of the area, Mero 1, already contracted, should start operating in mid-2021, and Mero 2, still under consideration, is expected to start production in 2022.
