Prosafe inaugurates maintenance with UMS on pre-salt platforms


Safe Concordia begins campaign in the Campos Basin and then departs for the Lula field

The flotel Safe Concordia, from Prosafe, started operations on the 26th for Modec. The vessel is supporting the FPSO Cidade de Niterói, installed in the field of Marlim Leste, in the Campos Basin. The maintenance campaign also provides support to the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, in operation of the Lula field, in the Santos cluster. Both are chartered to Petrobras.

The flotel arrived in Brazil at the end of September and has a charter of 200 days, with possibility of extension for another 15 days. The unit will be operating interconnected to the FPSO Cidade de Niterói until at least December.

The maintenance campaign in FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis will start in January. The work will mark the first operation of the type made in a pre-salt production unit.

UMS Safe Concordia came from Curaçao after being out of operation for about a year. Built to accommodate 461 people, UMS already had a contrct in Brazil for Petrobras.

Modec has 11 FPSOs in operation in the country, ten under contract with Petrobras and one with Shell, as well as two others under construction in China, which will be installed in the fields of Sepia and Mero, in the Santos Basin.
