Shell continues to contract for campaigns in Brazil

After closing the drill rig charter, oil company seeks well services and logistical support

The next Shell campaigns in the Campos and Santos basins continue to move the market. After closing the charter of the Catarina and Brava Star drill rigs, the oil company promotes tenders to contract well services and logistic support for Gato do Mato, Alto de Cabo Frio Oeste and BC-10.

Shell’s plan is to drill four wells in these assets over the next two years, starting in 2019. They will be two pioneers in Gato do Mato and Alto de Cabo Frio and two in the Parque das Conchas. In addition to drilling, the Anglo-Dutch is hiring drills, fluids, profiling and cementing services.

In the logistics part, Shell is seeking, for the time being, a PSV, helicopters and a mooring berth for support boats. In the case of air support, there are two bids, one to replace the contract with CHC Helicopter in BC-10, which ends in 2019, and another to the pre-salt areas, which can be serviced by more than one company.
