The Minister of Mines and Energy and president of the National Council of Energy Policy (CNPE), Moreira Franco, published on Wednesday (1/8) resolution alternating sectors where will be offered areas in the 16th round of the National Petroleum Agency, which should in the second half of 2019. The main change was the withdrawal of the SC-AP5 sector and the inclusion of the SC-AUP3 and SC-AUP4 sectors, all in the Campos basin.
The government also decided to exclude the SCAL-AP1 and AP2 sectors, in the Camamu-Almada Basin, in Bahia, and always subject to environmental restrictions. And added the deeper SCALAUP sector to the auction.
The resolution also included the SPEPB-AP3 sector in the Pernambuco-Paraíba Basin in the 2019 concession auction, and maintains the SJA-AUP (Jacuipe) sector in the Jacuípe Basin, also in Bahia.
According to the strategy adopted by the ANP, all the onshore sectors were excluded from the auctions. Onshore areas, even those that have not yet been tendered, will be made available to the market in the permanent offer of areas, which was recently published by the ANP.
