Sept. 1- ANP releases Brazil oil and gas production data for July 2026, 5.851 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) of oil and natural gas.

Regarding oil, 4.498 million barrels per day (bbl/d) were extracted, an increase of 0.5% compared to the previous month and 13.6% compared to the same month in 2025.

Natural gas production in July was 214.97 million cubic meters per day (m³/d). There was a 1.1% decrease compared to May and a 12.6% increase compared to July 2025.

Pre-salt

Total production (oil + natural gas) in the pre-salt layer in July was 4.821 million boe/d, accounting for 82.4% of Brazilian production. Production showed a positive variation of 0.3% compared to the previous month and 18.2% compared to the same month in 2025.

A total of 3.728 million bbl/d of oil and 173.72 million m³/d of natural gas were produced from 203 wells.

Natural gas utilization

In July, natural gas utilization was 97.8%. A total of 66.12 million m³/d was made available to the market, and flaring amounted to 4.67 million m³/d. There was a 29.5% reduction in flaring compared to the previous month, and a 14.8% reduction compared to July 2025.

Production source

During the month, offshore fields produced 98.1% of the oil and 88.7% of the natural gas. Fields operated by Petrobras—either alone or in a consortium with other companies—accounted for 87.27% of total production. Production originated from 6,724 wells: 613 offshore and 6,111 onshore.

Fields and facilities

In July, the Búzios field, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt area, was the largest oil producer, recording 1,113 thousand bbl/d of oil. Meanwhile, the Mero field, also in the Santos Basin, was the largest natural gas producer, with 49.14 million m³/d.

The facilities with the highest production levels were the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré in the Búzios field for oil (263,178 bbl/d) and the FPSO Marechal Duque de Caxias in the Mero field for gas (13.60 million m³/d).
