July 8 (PN) Equinor has completed the installation of the PLEM (Pipeline End Manifold) for the Raia project at a depth of approximately 2,700 meters in the Campos Basin. This subsea equipment connects the FPSO risers to the pipeline that will transport natural gas to shore.
The Raia pipeline will span approximately 200 kilometers, linking the Raia FPSO to the gas transport network near the Cabiúnas Gas Treatment Unit in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro state.
The project’s pipeline will have the capacity to transport 16 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, while the FPSO operating in the area will be capable of processing approximately 126,000 barrels per day (bpd).
The Raia field is located in the pre-salt area of the Campos Basin, approximately 200 km offshore, in water depths of up to 2,900 meters. The project will be operated by Equinor (35%) in partnership with Repsol Sinopec (35%) and Petrobras (30%).
With operations scheduled to begin in 2028, the project is one of the major natural gas developments underway in Brazil and has the potential to meet about 15% of the country’s demand for the fuel. The area is estimated to hold recoverable oil and condensate reserves exceeding 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
