Buzios Field surpasses 1.2 million barrels of oil pre day, new record just 3 days after reaching 1.1 barrels

July 1 – Just three days after reaching the milestone of 1.1 million barrels of oil per day last week, the Búzios field—located in the Santos Basin pre-salt—set a new production record. Last Friday (26), the field achieved an average daily production exceeding 1.2 million barrels of oil.

This result was driven by the progress of operations at the P-78 and P-79 platforms, which are currently in the ramp-up phase—a process of gradually increasing output until reaching their maximum capacity of 180,000 barrels per day each.

Considered the world’s largest deepwater field, Búzios currently has eight production units in operation: the P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, P-78, and P-79 platforms, as well as the Almirante Barroso and Almirante Tamandaré FPSOs. The latter has a nominal production capacity of 225,000 barrels per day, with the potential to reach up to 270,000 barrels daily.

The field’s development plan calls for the operation of 12 FPSOs. Currently, the P-80, P-82, and P-83 FPSOs are under construction, while the Búzios 12 unit remains in the tendering process.
