OceanPact Signs Petrobras Contract to Decommission Flexible Pipelines at Marlim Field

June 15 – OceanPact has signed a R$ 443.7 million contract with Petrobras to perform specialized services for the removal and recovery of flexible pipelines as part of the decommissioning of offshore production units. The work will be carried out on the risers of the P-18 platform, located in the Marlim Field, Campos Basin.

The contract includes pull-out operations, as well as the recovery of flexible pipelines and umbilicals. The scope includes activities such as subsea inspections, cutting, disconnections, and subsea interventions, with the support of MPSV (Multipurpose Support Vessel) vessels, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), large cranes, and systems for handling, recovering, and storing the pipelines.

The project execution will involve different areas of OceanPact. The Subsea Engineering unit will be responsible for technical studies and operational planning. The Subsea and Decommissioning unit will operate ROVs, specialized tools, inspections, and recovery systems. The Navigation division will provide the vessels dedicated to the project, while EnvironPact will be responsible for environmental studies, risk management, and Safety, Environment, and Health (SHE) guidelines.

“Our operational model based on integration results in efficiency and greater safety in all phases of the project, from conception to final disposal, including initiatives focused on dismantling, recycling, and the circular economy, when applicable,” stated Erik Cunha, Commercial and Marketing Director and head of the decommissioning area at OceanPact.

In September of last year, OceanPact had already announced an agreement exceeding R$ 1 billion with Trident Energy for decommissioning services in the EPRD (Engineering, Preparation, Recovery, and Final Disposal) modality, also in the Campos Basin, in addition to subsea infrastructure revitalization work.
