April 30 – Petrobras’ average production of oil, natural gas liquids (NGL), and natural gas in the first quarter of 2026 reached a record 3.23 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MMboed).
This figure is 3.7% higher than the fourth quarter of 2025 and 16.1% higher than the first quarter of last year, mainly due to the ramp-up of the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels P-78 in the Búzios field, Alexandre de Gusmão in the Mero field, Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi in the Marlim and Voador fields.
In this quarter, 10 new producing wells came online, seven in the Campos Basin and three in the Santos Basin.
Exploration and Production
The platforms in the Búzios field achieved a record daily production of 1.037 million barrels of oil on March 20th and a record gas export of 12.4 million m³ on March 25th in the first quarter of this year.
Meanwhile, production from the Mero field surpassed the historic mark of 700,000 barrels of oil in a single day. This result was achieved by the start of operations of another well, connected to the FPSO Alexandre de Gusmão.
The platforms in the Santos Basin achieved a record daily gas export of 44.8 million m³ on March 28th.
“The strengthening of the operational reliability of the production systems sustained a high level of asset efficiency, encompassing both pre-salt and post-salt areas, in line with the consistent performance observed in recent quarters,” the state-owned company reported.
