The confirmation of the platform, called FPSO Maria Quitéria, which will be located in the Jubarte field, in the pre-salt layer of the Campos Basin, was made by the general manager of the Exploration and Production Business Unit of Petrobras in Espírito Santo, Eduarda Lacerda.

The announcement of the new investment took place during the Metal Mechanics and Industrial Innovation Fair in Espírito Santo. On the occasion, Eduarda took the opportunity to inform about the company’s other projects in the state.

“On the south coast of Espírito Santo, we are studying the implementation of an offshore wind farm. Of the five platforms planned in the Campos Basin in the 2023-2027 Business Plan, three will be managed by our unit. So, there are several projects and investments for the present and future of our company in Espírito Santo. The future isn’t just about producing oil, it’s not just about producing gas. It means producing clean and sustainable energy”, said the manager.

With Petrobras approaching its 70th anniversary, Eduarda highlighted the importance of Espírito Santo in the history of Petrobras, a state where the state-owned company has been present for 66 years. “This year, Petrobras completes 70 years, and the state has always been an important part of that history. We live here – and it was no coincidence that it was here – some of the most innovative and remarkable episodes in our history, such as the first well at sea and the first production in the pre-salt layer, which this year reaches 15 years”, highlighted the manager.
