Vast Infrastrutura signs contract with PRIO for transshipment of oil at Porto do Açu

Vast Infraestrutura (formerly Açu Petróleo) announced the signing of a contract to carry out oil transshipment operations for PRIO at the Port of Açu. The agreement will last for three years and will make it possible to export PRIO’s production in Albacora Leste, in the Campos Basin, using Suezmax and VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) vessels.

“This milestone reinforces our commitment to offering services with safety, operational excellence and care for the environment, in addition to demonstrating the growing confidence of the market in our company, which is already responsible for handling more than 30% of Brazilian oil exports and has the only private terminal in the country that allows transshipment in sheltered and protected waters with VLCC-type vessels,” said Vast in a publication on LinkedIn.

The Vast terminal at Porto do Açu has a license to handle 1.2 million barrels per day. In addition, it is the only private terminal in the country capable of receiving VLCC class vessels (Very Large Crude Carrier – with a cargo capacity of up to 2 million barrels).
