As part of the project to revitalize the Marlim and Voador fields, in the Campos Basin, Petrobras intends to reduce carbon emissions associated with the production of the areas by 60%. As a reminder, the revitalization of the Marlim cluster provides for the replacement of nine proprietary platforms by two new FPSOs equipped with technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“The revitalization of the Campos Basin is part of the largest recovery project for mature assets in the global offshore industry. With this, Petrobras hopes to add more value to the Marlim and Voador fields, installing the FPSOs Anita Gabribaldi and Anna Nery there, with the capacity to produce, together, up to 150,000 barrels per day (bpd)”, pointed out the company.
Petrobras also explained that it plans to drill 14 new wells, relocating another 61 – and with the effort to revitalize the reservoirs, the forecast is to generate production gains for the field. “Petrobrás has incorporated low fugitive emission valves into the new platforms, technology to reduce vented gas from oil storage tanks, in addition to other solutions focused on reducing carbon emissions, further contributing to the environmental resilience of the fields. of Marlim and Voador”, concluded the company.
