Failure in Subsea Equipment Stops Production in the Manati Field

An improper closure of a valve in the submerged part of the export pipeline stopped production in the Manati Field, located in the Camamu Basin. The incident happened last Friday but was only communicated to the market today by Enauta, one of the companies that are part of the consortium that produces in the area.

“The operator is evaluating the causes of the incident and there is no expected return. The Company will keep the market informed of developments on this matter,” said Enauta, in a statement. Manati is located on the coast of the Bahia municipality of Cairu, at a water depth of 35 meters to 50 meters. The field started its operation in 2007 through the fixed platform PMNT-1.

Currently, the consortium that produces in the field is formed by Petrobrás (35% and operation), Enauta (45%), PetroRio (10%) and Geopark (10%). This scenario should change soon. Petrobras, as is known, is selling its stake in the asset. Meanwhile, Enauta and PetroRio have already announced agreements to sell their respective stakes in Manati to Gas Brigde.

This is the second production stoppage in the field in just over two months. In late September, a small gas leak in the onshore part of the pipeline located between the compression plant and the field’s gas treatment plant caused production to stop at the asset.
