Saipem very close to signing SURF contract for Buzios 6

(PetroNoticias) Saipem presents best price in the tender for the contracting of the subsea collection system for Buzios 6. The Italian company presented the best offer in the tender for the production collection system and anchoring services for the FPSO Almirante Tamandare, the sixth production unit in the Buzios field. The tender had a total of 20 companies registered, but only three presented proposals.

Saipem’s proposal had an equalized global value of R$5.12 billion. McDermott appears with an offer of R$ 6 billion and Subsea7 with a bid of R$7.44 billion.

Petrobras has now started the proposal analysis phase. If confirmed as the contract winner, Saipem will be responsible for engineering design services; supply of goods; platform anchoring; installations and subsea interconnections of rigid, flexible and vessel umbilical pipelines. The FPSO Almirante Tamandare will be the largest oil platform in Brazil, with the capacity to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and 12 million m³/day of natural gas.

The winner will interconnect the 15 wells to the FPSO, in addition to anchoring the platform vessel through the installation of 24 fixed points with torpedo stakes. The system’s production ducts will be rigid, with 8 inches. The service ducts and jumpers will be flexible, with 4 inches.
