Petrobras announced two relevant bids this week, involving subsea equipment and pipeline connection services on platforms. The first bid includes the acquisition of five umbilical termination units (UTA) for the Búzios 5 platform, FPSO Almirante Barroso. The second bid for a service contract for the operation of pull-in and pull-out systems for subsea pipelines on Petrobras platforms. The two tenders will have national coverage and the opening of envelopes will happen in the first half of December.

The five UTAs that Petrobras intends to contract for the Búzios 5 project are equipment with the function of receiving hydraulic commands, low and medium voltage electrical signals, fiber optic signals from umbilicals and distributing them to other subsea equipment such as wet Christmas trees. The deadline for submitting proposals from bidders interested in the tender started this week and the opening of envelopes with proposals from companies was set for December 10.

The FPSO Almirante Barroso will be the fifth definitive production unit in the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. The contract for chartering the unit was awarded to the Japanese company Modec and, according to the latest update made by Petrobras on the vessel’s works show 47% of physical progress. The platform vessel will have the capacity to produce 150 thousand barrels of oil per day, with start-up scheduled for 2022.

Meanwhile, the second bid that is at stake in the coming days seeks services for operating pull-in and pull-out systems for subsea pipelines and leasing winch systems for these two types of activities at Petrobras production units. The opening of the envelopes is scheduled for December 15th.

The operating services of these two types of systems require offshore and onshore work fronts, in addition to materials and equipment to carry out these activities. In the case of the so-called pull-in, operations consist of receiving and connecting submarine pipelines (flexible and rigid) and umbilicals from production systems, transferred from a launch vessel. The pull-out covers the activities developed to carry out the reverse operation.

All documentation and bidding notices for the Búzios 5 UTAs (competition No. 7003355895) and services for operating subsea pipeline pull-in and pull-out systems (competition No. 7003353161) are available on the Petronect website.
