Shell is already considering the possibility of developing offshore wind farm projects in Brazil, said the company’s president in the country, André Araújo, during a webinar held by the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (Britcham) on September 1st. The executive explained that the company may apply technologies that are being studied abroad in the country.
According to Quest Floating Wind Energy (Q FWE), offshore wind developments in Brazil are expected to gain momentum relatively soon. Q Vision, a proprietary predictive analytics tool developed by Q FWE, is tracking five possible Bottom-fixed projects in the region representing a nameplate capacity of nearly 13 GW and a Total Addressable Market in CapEx of $31 billion.
