Maromba development will require US$ 716 million

Aug 28, 2020

The ANP board approved the development plan for the Maromba field, in the Campos Basin, in addition to the contractual extension of its production phase, for another 27 years, expiring in 2060.

The asset is operated by BW Energy (95%) , in partnership with Magma Oil (5%).

According to BW Energy’s plans for the field, between 2021 and 2026, six production wells and two other water interjectorate wells are planned to be drilled in the Maastrichiano reservoir. The FPSO Berge Helene will be the production unit in the area, with the first oil expected in May 2022. BW had also requested the reduction of royalties in the field, but the ANP denied the request, claiming that the regulation provides only this possibility for fields mature.
