Petrobras officially launched this week the bid for contracting the new platform P-78, which will be installed in the Buzios field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt. International competition will have the opening of proposals scheduled for December 18 this year. As we reported, the platform ship will only have the 25% of local content required by law, which could leave the Brazilian industry out of the main part of the works.
Complete documentation on the bidding process is available on the Petronect platform. The deadline for carrying out the works on the platform will be 1,645 days, equivalent to approximately four and a half years, as from the signing of the contract.
The P-78 will be one of two new proprietary platforms that Petrobras will build and operate in the Buzios field. The unit will be contracted in EPC mode. The forecast is that P-78 and its sister P-79 will start operating in 2025. Each will have the capacity to process 180,000 barrels of oil and 7.2 million m3 of gas daily.
