Changes on the way in the range of projects Petrobras intends to develop. The company’s Executive Director of Institutional Relations, Roberto Ardenghy, declared that the company should announce between August and September the results of a review in its portfolio of projects. The work is being carried out by the company’s technical team and consists of the study and evaluation of projects that can survive a “stress” scenario.
“We have many projects at Petrobras, such as the FPSOs, which are in process to be built. We are doing a reassessment of what we have in terms of projects that can survive with resilience ”, said the executive during the Best Of The Year ceremony, promoted by Bratecc.
Petrobras’ president, Roberto Castello Branco, had already commented in May that the state company would conduct this review work. The objective is to identify the projects that can be carried out, those that will depend on restructuring and still those that will be postponed or even definitively canceled. The review is a response from the company to the new scenario of the world oil and gas market.
Until the beginning of March this year, just before the coronavirus pandemic was declared, Petrobras’ strategic planning foresaw total investments of US $ 75.7 billion between 2020 and 2024. A large part of these resources, a slice of US $ 64 billion , would be destined for the pre-salt and ultra-deep waters of the post-salt.
