Field areas in the Campos Basin should be included in the ANP permanent offer regime.
Petrobras informed the ANP of its interest in voluntarily returning the areas of modules 1 and 2 of the Espadarte field in the Campos Basin. If the order is approved, the areas – which have not been producing since 2011 and 2018, respectively – should be included in the permanent offer regime.
The state company also filed with the agency a request for assignment of 50% of module 3 to Petronas. The sale of the asset, whose anticipated production system is under planning, was closed with the Malaysian oil company in April this year.
“[If approved] will be a new entrant who will possibly put in more resources and continue the development of this field. Which makes perfect sense with the current moment [opening for new companies], ”said the agency’s director, Aurélio Amaral, during a board meeting on Thursday (10/17).
Petrobras also requested the extension, for another year, of the interruption of production in module 3. The state-owned company is committed to resume it in 2021, through well 4-BRSA-480-D-RJS, already drilled and completed. It will be linked to FPSO Cidade Campo dos Goytacazes, which today operates in Tartaruga Verde. The scope of the project provides for three wells.
The ANP approved the claim, provided that the new discovery plan and compliance with the deadline are also approved.
