The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) Special Bidding Commission has qualified for the 6th pre-salt sharing round BP, Chevron, CNODC, CNOOC, ExxonMobil, Petrobras, Petronas, Repsol Sinopec and Shell as qualified operators. Also registered were the companies Ecopetrol, Murphy, QPI and Whintershall.
The 6th round of pre-salt sharing is scheduled for November 7, one day after the Transfer of Rights Surplus auction. This is the opportunity for companies that have not been able to win the TOR surplus bid to still compete for pre-salt areas.
The 6th pre-salt auction will have a signing bonus of R $ 7.85 billion. The auction will offer the areas of Aram, Cruzeiro do Sul (former Sudoeste de Lula, Suk and Sudoeste de Jupiter), Bumerangue. Sodoeste de Sagitario and Norte de Brava.
Petrobras has expressed interest in guaranteeing the preemptive right in three blocks of the 6th round of pre-salt sharing. It included the area of Aram, where was the old block S-M-857, which Eni had contracted in the 8th round of 2006, but was annulled by the court.
Petrobras’ preemptive right was expressed for Aram, Norte de Brava and Sudoeste de Sagitario. By the rule of sharing, if it loses bid for the areas, the company may exercise the preference on auction day and guarantee the operation and 30% of the contracts – the 6th pre-salt round is scheduled for November 7, 2019.
