The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) has registered Enauta, Murphy Oil, Petrogal, Petronas and Whintershall DEA in the 16th bidding round plus the same companies that participated in the 15th round, held last year.
The auction will offer 36 blocks in seven sectors of five maritime sedimentary basins: Pernambuco-Paraíba, Jacuípe, Camamu-Almada, Campos and Santos, totaling 29,300 km² of area.
The ANP mapped several exploratory opportunities in the Campos and Santos basins that will be offered at the auction. Nemo is the largest lead in the 16th round, with unbroken volume 6.87 billion bbl (P50), according to the agency. Sum of VOIP (volume of oil in place) P50 not crossed for opportunities is approximately 36 billion bbl.
On September 26, the deadline for presentation of the offer guarantees. The agency expects the auction contracts to be signed in February next year.
