The company has 26 vessel repair contracts for 2019 an increase over 2018 with 24 completed .
Wilson Sons shipyard will conclude the maintenance of the PSV (Platform Supply Vessel) Zarapito and the tugboat Vega by the end of this month. The operations started on 4 June, in Guarujá, and includes repair procedures for the structural, mechanical, electrical and aesthetic integrity of the vessels.
In addition to these two vessels, the Company has performed ten other dry-dockings this year and has 14 more scheduled to total 26 contracts in 2019. The number exceeds the performance of 2018, when 24 naval repair operations were carried out.
“It is an important result and demonstrates the Company’s strength in a challenging period for the Brazilian naval industry. We are recognised for our expertise in the construction of new vessels, dry-docking, repair and naval conversion,” says Adalberto Souza, Executive Director of Wilson Sons shipyards.
The executive emphasizes that the shipyard´s infrastructure, assets located inside the largest port in Latin America, outstanding performance and history of delivering on time are determinant in our client’s choice. He futher highlights the importance of the Group’s businesses synergy. The PSV Zarapito belongs to Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore and Vega to Wilson Sons Rebocadores.
In addition to the dry-docking contracts, the Company’s current orderbook futher contemplates the construction of an escort tugboat, with 90 tons of bollard pull, for Wilson Sons Towage. Last year the company delivered a similar tugboat, the WS Sirius, the most powerful in the Brazilian coast.
