Message for U.S. Citizens:  Visa Waiver for U.S. Citizens

br.usembassy.gov

The Brazilian government announced that effective June 17, 2019, a visitor visa (electronic or paper) will not be required for U.S. citizens to travel to Brazil for the purposes of tourism, business, transit and artistic and sportive activities, for stays of up to 90 days.

Wednesday, June 12 is the last day the Brazilian government will accept electronic visa applications for U.S. citizens.  From June 13 through June 16, U.S. citizens with urgent travel needs should contact the nearest Brazilian Consulate for assistance:

Travelers may encounter confusion as airlines and check-in agents adjust to visa-free travel to Brazil for U.S. citizens.  You are encouraged to arrive at the airport early to allow time for check-in agents to verify the changes with their airline.  If you experience any difficulties, please contact the Brazilian consulate nearest you for assistance.

Best Regards,
