Subsea 7 is eyeing new subsea contracts in Brazil for 2019. “We are presenting proposals or in the process of bidding for the Carcará, Búzios, Mero-2 and Lapa projects,” said company CEO Jean Cahuzac during a conference with analysts.
All the projects are located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. Mero and Búzios are operated by Petrobras, while Carcará is operated by the Norwegian Equinor and Lapa, by the French Total.
Subsea 7 is a specialist in the interconnection of offshore fields. Last year, the company’s activities in Brazil decreased, with the termination of PLMV contracts Kommandor 3000, Seven Phoenix and Skandi Vitória with Petrobras.
Currently, the company has four PLSVs in the service of Petrobras: Seven Cruzeiro, Seven Rio, Seven Sun and Seven Waves, which are chartered until 2021 and 2022.
