IBAMA authorized the inclusion of support vessels by Petrobras in the 3D seismic campaign with nodes in the Búzios field, the Transfer of Rights assignment of the Santos Basin pre-salt. The agency also allowed the area of maneuvers of the campaign to be expanded by 3,500 meters, aiming to improve the quality of the seismic image and increase operational safety.
The seismic campaign of Búzios will comprise 1 thousand km² of geological area and 1,6 thousand km² of area covered by nodes, with a shooting area of 2.7 thousand km² and a water depth of up to 3 thousand m. The survey by Seabed Geosolutions began in October 2018 and is scheduled to end in the third quarter of this year.
Two vessels are used: SR / V Vantage, in charge of seismic, and M / V Subsea Viking nodes. The deep water mapping with Nodes of Búzios is considered one of the largest in the oil industry.
The Búzios campaign began almost a year after the originally scheduled date. Petrobras’ schedule provided that work should start in 2017, but difficulties in mapping the area of Libra affected the work plans.
