Ivan Monteiro continues as president of Petrobras until the appointment of the new president
Roberto Castello Branco will be the president of Petrobras (PETR3, PETR4), according to a statement by the future Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes.
Guedes confirmed in a statement the appointment of Castello Branco as president of Petrobras under the Bolsonaro government and that he accepted the invitation.
Ivan Monteiro continues as president of Petrobras until the appointment of the new president.
Castello Branco holds a PhD in Economics from FGV and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Chicago. One of his first professional performances was as a professor at the Graduate School of Economics of the FGV.
In 1985 he assumed the position of Director of Standards and Capital Markets of the Central Bank, under José Sarney. In the following years he acted as director in several financial institutions.
In 1999 he became Investor Relations Director and Chief Economist at Vale, a position he held for fifteen years. After leaving the mining company, between 2015 and 2016 he was a member of the board of directors of Petrobras. Castello Branco currently serves as director of the FGV.
