Açu Petroleo concludes sixth operation with VLCC

Açu Petroleo, a joint venture between Prumo and Oiltanking, carried out the 6th operation with VLCCs, the largest oil tankers in the world and which can hold up to two million barrels of oil.

The company, which operates in Açu Port, the only Brazilian private terminal with capacity to receive such vessels, performed the 1st transshipment with VLCCs in May of this year. All operations were carried out for Petrogal.

One of the differentials of its terminal is being in an area sheltered by breakwater, which allows more agility and safety in operation, with efficiency and cost reduction for customers.

The company carries out the complete transfer of 2 million barrels in an average time of 67 hours, with a flow of 10 thousand m³ / hr. 70% of Brazilian oil export operations are made with VLCC vessels, representing a strong market trend.
