Spectrum intends to start in January 2019 the acquisition of 12,185.60 km of 2D seismic lines in deep waters of the Campos Basin. The acquisition will last 180 days and will be completed in June of next year.
The acquisition looks at the sectors that will be offered by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) in the 17th round of bids for exploratory blocks, scheduled for 2020. The auction will offer blocks in the sectors SC-AP1, AP3, AUP1 and AUP2.
The closest point of the activity area to the coast is 180 km from the municipality of Marataízes, in the state of Espírito Santo. It will preferably be used the Mauá / RJ Shipyard for the operations to support the seismic activity.
Spectrum has been using the strategy of anticipating speculative acquisitions in the regions where blocks will be tendered by the ANP. In April, the company began a campaign to acquire 47,000 km of 2D seismic data in the Santos Basin in sectors that will be offered in the 16th round of bids scheduled for 2019. The data will be processed by the company in Houston.
