Wishful thinking? Government wants to leave six oil auctions approved for next administration

The federal government intends to leave six petroleum auctions approved for its successor, three auctions of concession areas and another three of the pre-salt areas. The information is from the Secretary of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), João Vicente Vieira, who participated in Rio de Janeiro seminar Resumed and Challenges of New Local Content Rules.

“The idea is to define the technical and economic parameters of the pre-salt auctions by the ordinary meeting in December and bring the planning of sharing rounds – 7th and 8th rounds – for 2020 and 2021. I imagine we can leave a three-year calendar, “said the MME secretary.
