The Marlim complex was the object of a letter of intent signed by Petrobras and CNPC in July this year. The Chinese undertakes to evaluate Comperj’s conclusion and a stake in the active producer. The deal may involve heavy oil processing from the fields that make up the complex at the Rio refinery. The concession contracts for Marlim, Voador and Marlim Sul had already been extended to 2052.

Marlim undergoes revitalization

Petrobras foresees in its business plan 2018-2023 the revitalization of the field. The area will receive two new FPSOs, currently being tendered. The two platforms will start operating in 2021 and will be chartered for 25 years. The bids are open and the bids will be delivered on October 10.
