ANP has already approved the renewal of a concession contract for seven fields in production
The ANP board approved the extension of the Marlim Leste concession contract until 2052. Petrobras is the concessionaire of the field, whose contract for Round Zero ends in 2025.
The production system of the field has two FPSOs – P-53 and Niterói City, with capacity of 180 thousand barrels / day and 100 thousand barrels / day, respectively.
The Marlim complex was the object of a letter of intent signed by Petrobras and CNPC in July this year. The Chinese undertakes to evaluate Comperj’s conclusion and a stake in the active producer. The deal may involve heavy oil processing from the fields that make up the complex at the Rio refinery. The concession contracts for Marlim, Voador and Marlim Sul had already been extended to 2052.
Marlim undergoes revitalization
Petrobras foresees in its business plan 2018-2023 the revitalization of the field. The area will receive two new FPSOs, currently being tendered. Marlim I will have capacity to produce 80 thousand barrels / day and compress 7 million m³ / day. Marlim II will have 70,000 barrels a day and 4 million cubic meters a day of gas.
The two platforms will start operating in 2021 and will be chartered for 25 years. The bids are open and the bids will be delivered on October 10.
ANP evaluates concession renewals
Since 2016, the ANP has already approved the renewal of the concession contract for seven fields in production. There are another 13 processes being evaluated.
The renewal of the concession contracts of Round Zero was a decision taken to reactivate the investment in the area of oil and gas in the country.
