Company signs contract with Modec to supply equipment to Petrobras platform
BHGE has entered into a contract with Modec to supply the Mero 1 FPSO gas turbines, which will be installed in the pre-salt field of the Santos Basin.
This is the second newbuild by Petrobras in which the company is present. In the first quarter, BHGE was contracted by the Japanese company to manufacture the FPSO Carioca engine-driven compressors to be installed in the Sepia field.
In the latter, the generation turbines and the turbochargers remained with the German Siemens.
With a processing capacity of 180,000 barrels per day and 12 million m3 / d of natural gas, the Mero 1 FPSO will be the largest in the country. The unit will be anchored in water depths of 2,100 m by 2021.
The Carioca FPSO was designed to process 180,000 barrels per day and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas. Its construction was recently contracted to KeppelFels, expected to start in the last quarter of this year.
