Pre-salt auction: 11 of the 16 companies participated in the 15th round

The Special Bidding Commission for the 4th pre-salt auction, which will take place on June 7, approved the participation of the 16 companies that have expressed interest in the competition. 11 of the registered companies bid on the 15th round of the ANP, which tendered blocks in six offshore basins, including areas in the pre-salt under the concession regime in the Santos Basin, the same region where blocks will be offered at the auction next month.

Only CNOOC, CNODC, DEA, Ecopetrol and Petronas did not present proposals in the March auction. Total was the only one of the companies that submitted a proposal and did not take any area in the bidding process. Shell was the company that most submitted tenders in the competition, altogether 12. It took the concession in four areas.

Companies may submit bids in the 4th pre-salt auction only for the blocks located in the sectors for which they have paid the participation fee and provided a bid guarantee.

The competition will offer the areas of Itaimbezinho, Três Marias, Dois Irmãos and Uirapuru in the Campos and Santos Basins. Petrobras has indicated that it will exercise preemptive rights in the areas of Dois Irmãos, Três Marias and Uirapuru in the auction. The company is required the minimum percentage of 30% in each area and if maintained the percentage will have to disburse R $ 945 million
