The Atlanta field is the first 100% private project to be producing in the Santos Basin
Queiroz Galvão E & P announced that it started production of the Petrojarl I FPSO, chartered with Teekay Offshore, in the Atlanta field Santos Basin, 17 years after first drilling well. Well 7-ATL-2HP-RJS is in the stabilization phase and the field is expected to reach 20,000 barrels of oil per day by the end of the second quarter through two wells. All production will be purchased by Shell.
The project, which is the first 100% private production in the Santos Basin, is an Early Production System, when the company conducts the preliminary study of oil and gas reserves. Its objective is to start commercial production in the field, allowing a better understanding of the reservoir behavior and its productivity.
Petrojarl I is the second FPSO to start operations in 2018 in the Santos Basin. Two weeks ago, Petrobras started producing with the FPSO P-74, the first unit to produce commercially in the Búzios field. Another five FPSOs are in the plans of Petrobras to start operating in the region in the second half.
