The Customs of the Federal Revenue Service at the Port of Santos authorized BG Brazil to export crude oil produced in an exclusive geographical area located off the coast of the state of São Paulo, in the Santos Basin.
The authorization was published on 29th in the Official Gazette of the Union. According to the text, BG may use simplified procedures for shipment by transhipment and customs clearance of crude oil export in the form of shipment.
As it is known, BG was bought by Shell in 2016. At the time, Shell president Ben van Beurden announced that the goal of the two companies is to quadruple production in Brazil by the end of this decade. The Anglo-Dutch company is also one of the Petrobras partnerships in the pre-salt Libra area.
