CHC Brasil, a subsidiary of CHC Helicopter (CHC), officially opened its new hangar at Benedito Lacerda Airport in Macaé. The new 1,270-square-foot facility is designed to accommodate up to three aircraft internally and will support the operation of the S-76, S-92 and AW139 aircraft for customers in the region.
Present in Macaé since 1996, the company invested R $ 3 million in the construction of this new space, completed in a challenging term of only 6 months.
“We take this opportunity to invest in an installation that allows us to better support our customers,” said Marcelo Luiz Da Silva Soares, CHC Regional Director for Latin America.
“Our previous facility was very old, could only house two aircraft at a time and was further away from the main entrance of the airport,” he says.
The new hangar reinforces CHC Brasil’s commitment to Macaé, the national oil and gas market, with all its 60 employees in the city and a total of 400 in Brazil. According to Soares, the last 3 years have been a challenge for CHC and all companies in the industry. “We have decided, however, to move forward and to continue investing so that we are ready when the market reheats. This new facility will ensure a larger and more modern space while helping us create a safer environment, rationalize our operation and reduce costs” , Concludes the Regional Director.
