ANP Announces in May 4th Round of Marginal Accumulations

The announcement and contract of the 4th Round of Marginal Accumulations in May 11 was published by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), will offer nine areas for exploration and production of oil and gas with low potential in three basins.

Concession will be offered in the areas of the Garça Branca, Mariricu (Espírito Santo Basin), Iraúna, Morro Rosado Northwest, Urutau (Potiguar Basin), Araçás Leste, Itaparica, Jacumirim and Quiricó Valle (Recôncavo Basin ).

As determined by the government, the round will not require local content and the signing bonus will be the sole criterion for defining the winners in the auction. The winners will also go through a qualification process at the ANP.

The minimum subscription bonuses set forth in the notice for the nine areas total R$451,505 .

The winners will commit to carry out an initial work program (ITP) during the rehabilitation phase of the areas. Together, the minimum ITPs required for the nine assets total R$9.8 million in investments.

It is expected that the contracts resulting from the auction will be signed by the end of August.

To date, the ANP has conducted three auctions of areas that bring lower volumes prospects compared to large bidding rounds. In the last round conducted by the ANP, in 2015, nine areas were negotiated out of ten offered, which resulted in R$ 4.25 million reais in signing bonus.
