DOF extends another Petrobras PLSV deal into 2028

Nov. 5 (splash247.com) Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has secured another long-term contract extension with Petrobras in Brazil.

The company said that the pipelay support vessel (PLSV) Skandi Olinda has been awarded a 304-day extension following negotiations with the Brazilian state-controlled oil and gas giant.

The contract, previously scheduled to expire in April 2027, will now run through January 2028.

The vessel is owned by a 50-50 joint venture between DOF and offshore engineering and technology company TechnipFMC.

The latest agreement follows two other PLSV extensions secured by the same joint venture with Petrobras in July this year.

At the time, DOF announced that the Skandi Buzios and Skandi Recife had received extensions of 516 and 550 days, respectively.

Both vessels had contracts scheduled to expire in the third quarter of 2026, but the extensions pushed their employment through January 2028.

In addition to the two Petrobras extensions, DOF secured contracts for two unnamed anchor handling tug supply vessels in July. The contracts were for periods exceeding one year, with each valued between $15m and $25m.
