Oceanica Engenharia signs new four year diving contract with Petrobras

Oct. 9 – (splash247) Brazilian subsea services player Oceânica Engenharia has won a four-year contract worth around R$354m ($70m) from Petrobras.

The new deal covers specialised offshore diving services and diverless operations using ROVs and associated subsea tooling.

Oceânica said it could carry out work across up to four simultaneous service fronts, with operations expected to start in the first half of 2027 and continue through 2031. The new deal is expected to bring the company’s backlog to about R$10.3bn ($2.05bn). Oceânica did not disclose which Petrobras fields or offshore units the contract covers.

Earlier market intelligence on the planned award indicated that the scope involves subsea inspection and maintenance work and, unlike many of Oceânica’s larger Petrobras contracts, would not require a dedicated diving support vessel. Divers and ROVs will instead be deployed directly from Petrobras’ offshore production units.

The latest award adds to a sizeable portfolio of work with Petrobras. In March, Oceânica disclosed a series of long-term Petrobras contracts worth a combined $736m.

Those deals also run for four years, with operations starting during the first half of 2027 and continuing into 2031.
